This site is one big experiment/work-in-progress the "theme" of which is:

                                        whatever-I-feel-like-putting-here. 

My original inspiration was family/genealogy oriented, but as time goes on, and if I know me, I'll continue to add additional (& random) pages/links as the mood strikes (and as I get the hang of this whole site-building thing).  In fact, look no further, it's relatively random already. 

As to the original family tree/history purpose, the content is constantly progressing .  I've gotten pretty far with both the Bakert and van der Leun* sides and right now, I am continuing to distill and synthesize all of the information.  Frankly, there's more to *us* than I ever thought & its simply fascinating.  (to me, at least).

**Now that I have finally gotten a chance to meet the (Adriaan) Visser-van der Leuns (& been to visit 2x!) and have gotten in touch with the "western" (Albertus) van der Leuns, I have been adding even more to this section--at exponential rates.  The van der Leuns now have their own site.  CLICK HERE to go there now.   (SPECIAL THANKS to Alex & Guus Visser & Helen van der Leun Worster for providing me with so much information).  As I continue to synthesize & organize everything, the "Bakert History"  section will continue to grow --but for now, just hold tight & check out what is here.
